The Bat Out of Hell Musical

Oh...my...goodness. I can't even begin to explain how good this musical was...but I'll try. So I got my Mum and Dad tickets to see Bat Out of Hell at the Manchester Opera House for Christmas and because I wanted to go also I got myself one, I just thought it would be nice to spend a day out with them both as it is something we rarely do. I had been so excited to see it pretty much since I bought the tickets. We went on Saturday, we got an earlier train into Manchester so that we could have a mooch around and get some lunch. We were watching the matinee performance, we got to the Opera House...finally and I was actually really impressed with it as venue. I hadn't been there before but I like how much more intimate it was than the bigger theatres, I would definitely go there again.
I don't want to spoil it in case you intend to go but there are a few surprises, the special effects are amazing the cast are absolutely incredible. So so talented. I was a little confused about the story line to begin with but as it went on I understood it more and it is now up there as one of my favourite musicals. I actually didn't want it to end.
The actors have such good voices and along with the dancing you just want to get up there and join them. I absolutely love Meatloaf and was singing the songs for at least the next week.
I left wanting to purchase a pair of doc martins and to go and join a gang, it was that good I would love to see it again and that is quite rare for me as usually I try and see as many different musicals as I can.

Here are a few press pictures I found, obviously I didn't take these myself as that is forbidden. I don't want to give the story line away so you just need to see it. I can't wait to go and see it again. A massive congratulations to all of the cast for doing such an amazing job, they are all so talented and they just genuinely look they like they are enjoying themselves.

February Favourites

After a break from favourites posts I actually miss doing them and I now have quite a few favourites to share. Here are my February Favourites.

Image result for boho rimmel
Image result for nyx butter gloss toasted marshmallow

I have a couple of go to lip colours at the minute. The first one is called Boho Nude by Rimmel, how pretty is the packaging? This is a nice day to day colour. If I want something with more pigment I will go for the NYX buttergloss in the shade Toasted Marshmallow. I love it!

Tangle Teezer The Ultimate Hair Brush - Pink: Image 21
I am a massive fan of the tangle teaser, I have a few of them in different colours however my only fault with them is they do tend to fly out of my hand every now again. So I when I got this one for Christmas, it changed my life. Ok so that was a little dramatic but I find it a lot easier to grip and it is just easier to use.

Mckay Strap Boot

As soon as I saw these Ugg boots I knew that I wanted them. They aren't like the stereotypical Ugg boots which adds to their appeal. I had forgotten how comfortable they are with the fluffy lining, it is basically like wearing a pair of slippers and I live in them. These were from Office.

I wrote a blog post after I went to see La La Land, it doesn't give too much of the plot away or I tried not to. It was such a good film and just has to be in my favourites. If you haven't seen it already then go right now!

I got a coffee machine for Christmas which I have been a little bit obsessed with, you know how you get some gadgets where you use them a couple of times and then that's it they are hidden away never to be seen again. Well my coffee machine is the complete opposite, I use it every single day. I'm not a massive coffee drinker however I do love a good hot chocolate, my favourite one is the caramel hot chocolate pods (I think they are purple) the smell is incredible.

Image result for dungarees newlook
I had wanted a pair of dungarees for a really long time but I didn't know if I would suit them or if I would just look like a farmer then I didn't really know if I would wear them and I was just being fussy. I found some in Newlook in the sale for £10 so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try out a pair and I absolutely love them. If I could wear them all the time...then I would. I think I want some more that aren't denim. Also the picture above are not the exact pair, mine are a bit darker.

Marcus got me this box of Lindt chocolates for valentines day and I can honestly say they were the nicest chocolates I have ever had, You know when sometimes you get a box of chocolates and there are always certain flavours you don't eat so you give them away well I loved every single one of these. He can definitely get me them again...hint hint!

The Oscars 2017 - Red Carpet Style

The Oscars is one of my favourite times of the year fashion wise, I am not massively into films so I can't really say that I enjoy watching the award side of things however I do love to see what everyone is wearing. This year there seemed to be a lot of gold on the red carpet, I like that everyone got into the Oscar spirit and some attempted to imitate the Oscar award. Here are some of my favourite looks.

Naomie Harris always looks amazing and here is no exception in this Calvin Klein number, I love that she has taken a risk with the train at the back but it has definitley paid off. The accessories compliment the outfit perfectly and I have fallen in love with the shoes.

Here is Taraji P Henson in Alberta Ferretti wearing an LBD exactly how it should be. The split adds that bit of drama necessary for an Oscar award ceremony.

It is no secret that Emma Stone is my favourite person, she always knows how to dress on the red carpet and she looks stunning in this Givenchy Couture dress. I like the 20's vibe it has like a maxi flapper dress. I would love to put this dress on and spin round in it, the embellishment is so incredible. Perfect choice.

Jessica Biel in Kaufman Franco, I think she looks lovely although I don't think everyone could pull off the head to toe gold look. I would have broken it up just a little bit.

The lovely Dakota Johnson in Gucci. Your either going to love this dress or hate it, as I am one who loves it when people takes risks I actually do like the dress however I am not loving the styling. Personally I would have gone for an updo or big wavey hair. I also would have gone for a bold red lip as I feel she looks a little washed out. I can see her thought process in going for a daring dress then keeping everything else simple bit in my opinion if you are going all out on the dress, go all out on everything.

Nicole Kidman looking absolutely incredible in Armani, there is so much detail on this dress and I like the train.

Here is Auli'i Cravalho in her red carpet debut wearing Rubin Singer, I can't believe she is only 16. An age appropriate dress choice with subtle gold detail, she looks lovely.

Unicorn Biscuits

I am currently slightly obsessed with unicorns so I thought I would make some unicorn biscuits. I was going to use different coloured icing but instead decided to go for white icing and pastel coloured stars.

One of the unicorns turned out to look more like a T-Rex, I styled it out and pretended I had done it on purpose and gone to extra effort but the truth is it was a complete accident. I do love dinosaurs too so I don't mind.

So happy with how my little unicorns turned out, would be prefect for a birthday party or baby shower.

How pretty is the aftermath of decorating the biscuits, I kinda want to frame it.

La La Land

Just over a week ago I finally got to see La La Land, the film that everyone has been talking about and that has had so many award nominations. If I am being completely honest I wasn't that fussed in seeing this film, I wasn't entirely sure what it was about and the fact that it was absolutely everywhere made me want to see it even less. I am so happy that on valentines day Marcus surprised me by taking me to go and see La La Land at the cinema, I found it so relateable and inspiring. The story was incredible and the soundtrack is so good. I have been singing 'City of Stars' (one of the main songs) for an entire week non stop.

Without giving too much away, the film is about a girl called Mia (Emma Stone) who works in a coffee shop to earn money while she is trying to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress. We see her do audition after audition which don't seem to go very well, not because of her acting skills but more the people holding the audition being uninterested. After one particular bad audition, she dusts herself off and heads out with the girls on a night out. At the end of the night while walking home is when she stumbles across a club being drawn in by a pianist. This is where she meets...Sebastian (Ryan Gosling.)
Sebastian (Seb) plays the piano in a restaurant whilst his dream is to gain enough money to open and play in his own jazz bar. He drives around in a car without any insurance and hasn't even unpacked properly in his flat as he is so driven by his career and his dream. He does any pianist job he can get even though he is better than the job.
We see the characters at rock bottom and follow them on their journey of trying to pursue their dreams...and that's all I am going to say. Oh also the film contains a great soundtrack and lots of dancing and...John Legend!

I loved this film, it got me from the opening scene. I loved all of the singing and dancing and the characters completely drew me in. I could relate to their situations in the way of them chasing their dreams and working in a job just to get money and for something to do in between getting to their destination. It was also inspiring that they never gave up on their dreams even though they sometimes wanted to because it was easier and less upsetting.

A lot of people have said that I have a resemblance of Emma Stone which I can not see myself and it is a major compliment as I love Emma Stone. Her outfits in the film were so striking, I wanted to own every single one of them especially the dresses. I think I might try and have a go of making the iconic yellow dress with the black flowers on that is on every advert for the film.

This is a must see film and I can't wait until it comes out on DVD. Although I had heard mixed things about it I am so happy I went to see it for myself and form my own opinion.

New year, New Make-up

My skin has not been a happy bunny recently and my usual make-up that I have been using for a while was not helping my skin at all. In fact it was making it worse, when I applied my foundation it would make my skin sting and it would be itchy, I don't want to name the brand as it may just be my skin being super sensitive. I think it was a combination of the weather and using the wrong products that has left my skin very red and dry. I wasn't actually planning to change my make-up but I went with my mum to a No7 concession stand I was given advice from a really nice lady and she even let me try the products to see if I liked them first. She also gave me a little tub of cream to try on the dry area above my lip and around my chin (which has worked wonders.) After sampling the products and them not upsetting my skin, they felt really nice on, I decided to purchase them a couple of days later. Here is what I got:

Image result for no7 instant radiance concealer
The first thing the lady applied was this concealer, people think that it is just to cover under the eyes or if you have any spots but she used this all over using a brush. She showed me what my face looked like after just putting the concealer on and it looked so much better already, it also felt really light like I didn't have any make-up on.
Image result for no7 tinted moisturiser
She then used this tinted moisturiser in the shade fair again applying it with a brush and she didn't use very much.

Image result for no7 shimmer palette rose
To finish off she used this pallete in the shade rose so that my skin wasn't just one even colour, she dabbed this all over but I tend to use it as a blusher and a highlighter.

This was the moisturiser I was given to try, I will definitely be purchasing this as my skin loves it. If you have dry eczema prone skin like me I would definitely recommend going to see a professional about the make-up you use and getting advise. I can only recommend the products that were used on me which I love.
