Afternoon Tea Birthday Party

I thought I would celebrate my birthday by doing an afternoon tea theme for my family and friends. I was busy baking and making things the night before and also in the morning. I bought a load of decorations from Ebay and made it as vintage looking as I could.
My mum made these finger sandwiches which were amazing, they always taste better without the crusts for some reason.
I found this cute little set in a charity shop. I got four teacups, four saucers, four small plates, four bigger plates, a milk jug and a sugar bowl for only £7...bargain. Although it didn't really go with anything else on the table I love it and it is so autumnal.
I got these little cake forks from boots, I have wanted some for a while and I thought these were perfect.

Mmmm cofee cake, the cake stand that this was on was my Nans. Although it is an old cake stand you really can't tell.

These were little puff pastry tarts with peppers and onions on, I also made some with peperoni on like mini pizzas.

I made these scones and mini lemon drizzle cakes.

I got this little menu from a pound shop, I wrote food on one side and drink on the other.

I decorated the room with these yellow and pink floral paper chains, a teapot garland and some bunting.
I had the best day and got lots of lovely presents.

October Favourites

Autumn is well and truly here, it has been a month of the leaves changing on the trees, the temperature slowly dropping meaning more layers and Halloween. Here are my faves...

Rimmel wake me up foundation in the shade soft beige, I have been really enjoying this as has my skin. I have very dry skin and this doesn't seem to make my skin any dryer which is good news. I like the colour and you can choose to build it up more for an evening look if you wish.

I have been loving this blusher stick, I really like the shade. It is quite easy to go overboard with it but the key is just to rub it in.

I have been using these nail glitters a lot. They are so easy just to sprinkle on while the nail varnish is wet. I have applied this to every nail if I am going out or for a daytime look chosen two nails to sprinkle.

This has been my saviour as the temperature is dropping and my skin is suffering. I have used it on my face a lot and it has worked wonders.

So after looking through my pictures I have realised that I have enjoyed quite a few cocktails last month. It's quite rare that I drink alcohol but I do love a good cocktail.

Lastly, keeping with the drink theme. I have been drinking quite a bit of valarium tea. It is calming and encourages a good nights sleep. I have been having trouble sleeping and this has definitely been working for me.

Lunchtime Outfit

It was my Aunties Birthday the other day and the family met up for lunch to celebrate. I thought I would share what I wore for the occasion.

I put these two necklaces together, they were both from Newlook and it was buy one get one free...bargain!

Here is the rest of my outfit: My blouse was from Primark costing £10, cord dress which is navy but for some reason looks black in the picture is from Newlook £19.99 and the hat is also Newlook £9.99.

Make up was quite simple, I tried to match my lips to my hat.

I enjoyed wearing this outfit although I felt like I was from a different era, it was fun and I felt dressed up without wearing a dress on its own with a pair of heels.

Surprise Trip to Dearnford Lake

Its my birthday on Sunday so my boyfriend decided to surprise me and take me to a secret location. After pestering him for the entire week, he did not give in and tell me. I'm not a fan of surprises so I did pester a lot! He literally didn't tell me until we arrived and I had read the sign out. Dearnford Lake is situated in Whitchurch, Shropshire, it was a lovely place I most definitely recommend it and plan to go back in the summer.

These pretty lights were hanging from the ceiling of the cafe, I really like them and want one for my bedroom.
This was the view from the cafe as we were eating.

We had afternoon tea which I thought was such a lovely idea, those scones were incredible.
I loved this cute teacup, saucer and side plate combination, it was really cute.

This sign was pretty cool, it said how far away certain places were. After our afternoon tea we had a walk around the lake.
A lovely place, friendly staff and amazing views. I want to go back.

Happy Halloween

I kinda left it really late to get a pumpkin, I only managed to get one today. I usually do a more creative design for example last year I did Minnie Mouse and the year before I did a giraffe. Time was against me so I did a simple pattern but I still think it looks really cool.

This is my little pupmkin before...

...and this is after.

I created my design using a drill which I had never used before. It didn't take long and it looks really effective with the candle in. Happy Halloween, hope you get lots of sweeties.

Charity Coffee Morning

My cousin held a charity coffee and cake morning to raise money for breast cancer, it was nice to get everyone together and who doesn't love cake for breakfast?

There was a good selection of cake, we all made something different and not one thing was shop bought. We could have opened a cake shop.

I made the lemon drizzle cake which is the square cakes at the back.

This Guinness gingerbread cake was AMAZING!

These were red velvet cupcakes, I love how the breast cancer ribbon is on one of them.

I am loving these cake forks, they have such a vintagey feel.

We had to play this game where we each had to put our name against an item that we thought may be in the big pink wardrobe. My cousin had picked it before hand and put it in an envelope. The winner got a box of cakes...

...guess who won. Excuse the windswept rained on look. I was super happy to have won but it was enough knowing we all there supporting an amazing cause, I would definitely recommend it!
