New year, New Make-up

My skin has not been a happy bunny recently and my usual make-up that I have been using for a while was not helping my skin at all. In fact it was making it worse, when I applied my foundation it would make my skin sting and it would be itchy, I don't want to name the brand as it may just be my skin being super sensitive. I think it was a combination of the weather and using the wrong products that has left my skin very red and dry. I wasn't actually planning to change my make-up but I went with my mum to a No7 concession stand I was given advice from a really nice lady and she even let me try the products to see if I liked them first. She also gave me a little tub of cream to try on the dry area above my lip and around my chin (which has worked wonders.) After sampling the products and them not upsetting my skin, they felt really nice on, I decided to purchase them a couple of days later. Here is what I got:

The first thing the lady applied was this concealer, people think that it is just to cover under the eyes or if you have any spots but she used this all over using a brush. She showed me what my face looked like after just putting the concealer on and it looked so much better already, it also felt really light like I didn't have any make-up on.

She then used this tinted moisturiser in the shade fair again applying it with a brush and she didn't use very much.

To finish off she used this pallete in the shade rose so that my skin wasn't just one even colour, she dabbed this all over but I tend to use it as a blusher and a highlighter.

This was the moisturiser I was given to try, I will definitely be purchasing this as my skin loves it. If you have dry eczema prone skin like me I would definitely recommend going to see a professional about the make-up you use and getting advise. I can only recommend the products that were used on me which I love.

Afternoon Tea at Mad Hatters

I didn't take a whole heap of pictures as I felt a bit anxious and self conscious however I did take some of the amazing afternoon tea that we had. My brothers girlfriend Kate got me a voucher for my birthday for afternoon tea at Mad Hatters in Chester. It was such a thoughtful present and we both love an afternoon tea. We had a lovely afternoon, everything was really fresh and all of the cakes looked amazing. I will definitely be going back just to get a cupcake. You can also pop in just for lunch so I think I will have to do that at some point too.

The bone china was lovely, I liked how they mixed and matched it.

Look at the pretty stars on the table (this was before Kate melted one to the table with her teapot.)

The little cow milk jug was so cute.
Check out these beauties, we each got a selection of finger sandwiches, a scone with jam and cream, a giant profiterole, a macaroon and we got to choose a cake so I went for the chocolate and raspberry brownie. We also got a bottomless pot of tea.

I loved all of the quirky features inside of Mad Hatters, the tea cups hanging from the ceiling, the teapot glued to the archway, the top hat light shade. They also had a cute little gift section.

Patchwork Quilt

I made this patchwork quilt for my cousin as a Christmas present from his girlfriend. I cut out the squares from his Granddad's shirts who sadly passed away last year. I can honestly say I enjoyed making it so much and I now want to make one for myself with some cute floral fabric. I tried to keep as many quirky features in as I could like the shirt pockets and button stands. I sewed on the knitted poppy as my cousin's Granddad sold them after a career in the army. Such a lovely keepsake and something to cuddle when you are really missing that person.

What I Got For Christmas

I hope that everyone had a lovely Christmas and New year, I can't believe that two weeks ago it was Christmas day and we were all probably enjoying an afternoon nap after our Christmas dinner right now while watching Frozen...or was that just me? I love seeing what everyone got for Christmas especially when the present is personal to them. Here is a selection of what I got, not to boast or anything like that but purely if your nosy like me or you may see something you want to try for yourself.

It is definitely tradition to get pyjamas for Christmas, I got these cute Disney ones from my boyfriend's mum. I love them and as you can see they match my bedding which obviously is important.

It wouldn't be Christmas without one of these, Marcus put it in my stocking.

People know me so well, I got so many new false nails and this isn't even all of them. I love how they are all different too. Currently wearing the elegant touch constellation nails which are rose gold.

Lots of new Disney films from Santa, he is the best. I loved Milan as a child but I have never seen the second one, reflection is such a lovely song. I can't wait to watch all of these.
I have used this a couple of times already, I wasn't sure if corkscrew curls would suit me but I actually really like them. I think they look better the next day when they have dropped slightly and they don't take that long to create either.

Cute little Oasis watch which will go everything, I always forget to wear a watch but I will definitely be wearing this one. I love the floral face.

I am obsessed with notebooks and unicorns so what could be better than a unicorn notebook. I can not wait to write in this and it is glittery too.

I like to keep a diary, it just helps me empty my mind in the evening. I don't always fill everyday in but it is there when I need it especially if I am feeling low or anxious I can write how I feel and it helps me to feel better.

My brother got me this from Cath Kidston, I absolutely love it and it will come in very handy when I bake.

My brother's girlfriend got me this matching apron, I don't actually have an apron and every time I bake I get covered in flour or cake mixture so this will be very useful.

I adore Paperchase and I had actually got my mum a list book for Christmas in this print, I can't wait to write my recipes in here.

My boyfriend got me this as a small jokey present but I actually can't wait to use it. It will be good for a plane journey.

I have two tangle teasers but I don't have one with a handle,  the ones I have tend to fly out of my hand so hopefully this one won't do that.

Adding to my Lindy Bop obsession, I got these shoes. They aren't something I would usually go for but they will go with all of my Lindy Bop dresses and skirts.

I am using this as a pencil case right now, it has all of pretty pens in. Definitely always be a Unicorn.

My Mum and Dad got me these cute postcards, I have always loved Beatrix Potter. I have no idea who I am going to send 100 postcards to but I love the idea and each one is a different picture.

This item was on my list, I use the Calm app at night when I am struggling to sleep and I when I saw this I thought it would be useful. It is such a lovely book and I just love the pages and the fact it has activities in it.
