Happy 1st Birthday Lollipop

I have been blogging now for just over a year, yes I went to the efforts of baking coffee cupcakes and lighting a one shaped candle for the occasion. I don't do things by halves. I am really proud of my blog and I enjoy doing it which is why I wanted to celebrate. I feel as though I have come a long way since my first blog post, for starters I now take pictures using an actual camera instead of using my Iphone. It was easier to upload from my phone however the quality was not great. I am not the best photographer, I am still learning how to take the best picture but I do try and be as creative as I can with them which I enjoy. My blog may only have quite a small audience but I don't mind, I am all about doing things that you love and I like having this space on the internet where I can be creative and share things. I look forward to continue to blog, I want to be as honest as I possibly can and this blog gives me the motivation to try new things so that I can share it.
Here's to the next year, I hope to watch my blog grow (but not too big) and to find cool new things to blog about.

Pretty Decorated Jars

I made these jars for the Macmillan Summer Lights fundraising event I held last night, I put tealights in them and lit them all. I thought I could sell them and what ever money I get will also go to the Macmillan charity. I got most of the stuff from eBay, I asked around for the jars and everyone was really generous giving me carrier bags full of them. They were inexpensive, I even used things like string which I already had, lace and twine which are all really cheap.

My Home Sewn Floral Pleated Skirt

I made this pink floral pleated skirt, I am very happy with how it turned out. I adore the fabric and it is really fun to twirl around in. I used an a-line skirt pattern but added on width to allow for extra fabric for the pleats. I think the pleats took me the longest amount of time but I wanted to get them even or it would be really noticeable if they weren't. I'm not going to lie I have worn it non-stop since I made it, it is my new favourite and yes I am wearing it with pink hi-top converse and my new fringe.

Wedding Hairstyle

I went to a wedding...is it called a reception? The evening part, the bride and groom had basically got married abroad and had a party when they got back so that's what it was. Apologies for the poor lighting but I was rather happy with my hair and it took hardly any time to achieve.

I scraped back one section of my hair on the one side and braided it, I then put a pretty flower clip in (which was only £2 from Primark.) I curled the rest of my with large barrel curling tongs, sorted out my fringe then I was done. It honestly took about 20 minutes. I will definitely be repeating this style especially if I am in a hurry which I usually am. I am also quite low maintenance when it comes to my so this style was perfect.

Primark Haul

Been to Primark haven't I so I thought it was only right I did a haul. I went a couple of weeks ago and came out with absolutely nothing. I don't know what it was but that has never happened before. I always get panicky in there and really anxious but that doesn't usually stop me from buying anything. It was quite cold outside and the shop seemed to be filled with summer clothing or holiday wear. This time I went I saw lots of lovely things and because it was sunny outside it was easier to buy clothes to suit the sunny weather and buying holiday clothes felt less wrong.

I got this mustard slip dress that would be perfect to put on over your bikini for by the pool or on the beach. You could even just put it on for a hot summers day, it is really versatile and has so many different accessories options. The dress cost I think £8 and the sandals were only £3...bargain.

I like the dress that much I got it in this red floral pattern. They are super easy to wear and can be dressed up or down which is what I like about them. Put on a pair of wedges and there's your evening outfit sorted. This was also £8, I can see myself getting alot of wear out of it.

The pose is so cheesy I'm laughing at myself but I thought it would be cute. A simple cornflour blue sun dress with crochet detail, I got this with future holidays in mind. It was a bargain £4.

I am in love with this skirt, I want to twirl around when I have it on. It is a maxi circle skirt and was supposed to be £10 but when I got to the till it had been reduced to £5.

I really like this maxi dress, the terracotta colour is not something I would usually go for but I am so happy I did. It is super flattering and I especially like the tassel detail. This was £13.

This simple white sun dress was £4, I think I need a bit more of a tan to wear this. Put on a chunky necklace to dress this up for night time.

My Little Welsh Holiday

Last week I went away to mid Wales where my boyfriends grandparents have a time share holiday home, we were really lucky with the weather. I packed a mixture of summer clothes mixed with jeans and jumpers, it got a little chilly in the evenings so I did wear the woolly jumpers I took but I definitely didn't need my jeans.
These pictures were taken on a little walk we went on, the views were absolutely incredible and something I miss now I am back home. We always seemed to be on the go, on the complex there were lots of things to do so we went swimming, played tennis, pitch and putt and table tennis as well as lots of walking.
This little trail we went on had activities to do which I loved, it made our walk more fun. It was set in a forest but was a little edited as a couple of years ago a lot of the trees fell down in the high winds.
We also had a day at the beach but I forgot to take my camera. I think I won the most annoying girlfriend award on this walk wanting pictures taken in different poses and 'ooh just take that again I had my eyes shut'.
I had such a lovely time with my boyfriend Marcus and his family, it was so nice to not be in work. I find it really hard to relax especially with my anxiety but I finally managed it on this holiday. I even read a book which is something I have always loved the idea of as I love reading but I can never relax enough and never make the time to fit it in. I think I definitely need to make the effort to read more. Sometimes a break is much needed to gain perspective and clarity which is what this holiday did for me, I feel more motivated and driven to go after what I want.
