Mini Henry Holland Haul

I went shopping with mummy bear the other day, I had no intention to buy anything which is always when you tend to see lots of things that you want to buy. I got two really cute items that I wanted to share. They are both by Henry Holland from Debenhams and were also in the sale...bonus!

I have had my eye on this dress for a little while, I love the adorable print and the flattering style of the dress.

It has a little bit of tulle netting attached to the lining to give that extra bit of flare. I went for yellow shoes but really you could pick out any colour in the dress or be daring and go for a bright red pair.

The other piece I got was this gorgeous kimono made from a printed floral chiffon with a crochet trim.

I absolutely love this and you just feel pretty when your wearing it. Its feminine, flows perfectly and is ideal as a festival cover up teamed with a pair wellies and a floral headband. I made the white dress I am wearing myself a little while ago, I think the go really well together.

I purely put these images in as my cat decided to get involved and the other image is my reaction to him sniffing my hand. It completely took me by surprise and I thought they were quite funny.

I love the bell sleeves on the kimono, I know I will get a lot of wear out of this.

Little Wales Getaway

I have just had a few days away in Wales, it was really nice to get away and relax. We went to a place called Plas Talgarth which is right next to Machynclleth (can never spell that without google). My boyfriends' Nan and Granddad own a time-share at the Macdonald resort for the same week each year. It is a lovely place and there is lots of activities to keep you occupied.

I took this during the drive there, I have a short attention span so it gave me something to do.

One thing I love about Wales are the lovely views, I took these on the little balcony outside of our bedroom. It looks out onto a pitch and putt area. The sky looks like such a painting when the sun is setting,  I love the pink and purple colours.

My boyfriend and I went for a little walk, we found a giant checkers board so decided to have a go. Unfortunately he beat me and then I got beat by his cousin but it was fun!

Deep in thought about our next move.

Cute little courtyard, we were so lucky with the weather.

I had a go at pitch and putt, I own a couple of golf clubs as I like to go the driving range every now and again. I didn't hit any sheep in the field next to the course so I think I did okay.

Outdoor pool time, It was surprisingly nice and warm. I didn't go in just dipped my feet and stood in the middle like a fairy on a cake.

We took a trip to Aberdovey beach, it wasn't the warmest when we went but it had such lovely views. There was a bit of a sand castle competition going on between my boyfriend and his cousins.

Such a nice few days away, see you next year Wales.

Pretty Pastel Nails

I have discovered a really cool technique which I wanted to share. I don't have the longest
or most glamorous nails but I do like to experiment and match or clash my nails depending on my outfit.

I started by filing my nails and getting them all nice and rounded, then I used a clear nail varnish as my base coat to protect them.

Using a white nail varnish, I did a thin layer on each nail. I really love this nail varnish, I wasn't sure at first as I thought it just looked like I had used tip ex on my nails but now I would happily use this on its own.

Next you want to paint on a section on a make up sponge (you can use any colour).

Then dab on alternative corners of each nail.

Repeat with a different colour and dab on one corner of each nail. I did alternate corners to give it that tie dye look.

I think this was my favourite colour I used, it is called Icy Purple and it is a shade I haven't seen anywhere else. (I mastered taking pictures with my feet to get in shot the painting on the sponge).

For the last colour, the idea is to fill any gaps in.

Finally finish off with a clear nail varnish and just dab around the edges with a cotton bud dipped in nail varnish remover to tidy the edges up.

Here is the finished product. Really wish I had beautiful long nails but I'm working on it. Try it with any colour combination you wish. Happy dabbing.
